Your Story

The YOUR Story Project: The Upper Peninsula Digital History Initiative, is an intergenerational community program that brings youths and community elders together to create participatory digital histories. These are like “oral histories”, but they integrate video interview footage, photographs, music and more! The project is funded in part by Michigan Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Right Start UP is a non-profit organization with a mission to promote the healthy physical and psychological development of children and families in happy and safe homes and communities. Right Start UP works with children, youth and families to create educational, health promotional and violence-prevention programs grounded in social science research and public health practice.

This project was created by Right Start UP, with support from the Michigan Humanities Council, in partnership with Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly in Hancock and the Finnish American Heritage Center of Finlandia University.
